We source the paper we use in our bags from responsibly managed forests, which have stringent chain of custody processes in place to meet PEFC and FSC requirements. Because of this, AB Group Packaging’s customers can carry this message through to the end user by having the appropriate FSC or PEFC logo reproduced on their packaging.
We also offer a recyclable paper bag made from customers’ own paper-based waste material – a unique offering in our industry – this product choice delivers two meaningful outcomes for the customer; the lowest cost, branded paper carrier bags in the marketplace AND a product that has the lowest environmental impact.
All these bags carry the Full Circle symbol, demonstrating that this is a paper bag with the most positive environmental credentials in the marketplace.
The entire production system is environmentally sound by design and fully consistent with circular economy values. Full Circle makes sense on so many levels and you can read a case study showing how this is working in practice in the case study here.
We’re also working alongside several paper mills to champion a new “Ocean Friendly” certification for all our packaging and will announce the details here as it becomes available.
We have experts available who would be happy to discuss any sustainable innovations you would like to put in place for your bags – please get in touch here to arrange a call back.
At AB Group Packaging, we believe that sustainability must come from every part of our business. We care deeply about the protection of the environment and this ethos extends across all of the teams throughout our operations.
We have proactive and adaptive environmental policies and processes in place at all of our premises and all of our teams are actively involved in driving these and thanks to their efforts, we now send zero waste to landfill.
100% of the electricity we use comes from green sources and we continue to invest in energy efficient plant and processes to reduce our footprint even further. We currently have a team working towards generating all our own energy on-site.
We carefully monitor our manufacturing processes and have installed regenerative thermal oxidizers to clean air as it leaves our plants, so we release zero pollution to the atmosphere, water and soil. We’re also introducing battery powered/electrical cars and trucks across the company to further reduce emissions right across the supply chain.
A complete chain of custody system is in place for all materials used in all plants and for waste that leaves each plant and we’re working on building in secondary uses for all our products as part of our circular business model.
Customers can be reassured of AB Group Packaging’s full compliance with the strictest quality management and environmental controls and that we have the accreditations to demonstrate this. We are very proud to be a long-term holder of an International Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Licence.
To be awarded an IPPC Licence, our company must prevent any pollution release to the atmosphere, water and soil. In addition, we must reduce quantities of waste arising from our industrial installations, to ensure the highest level of environmental protection and to continuously reduce the amount of energy and chemicals used within our plants on a yearly basis. The IPPC licence is enforced by spot audits which are very stringent, and our supporting documentation must be kept up to date at all times detailing all of the ways we comply with the license plus a complete chain of custody for all materials entering and leaving our sites.
If you feel that our company ethos and credentials would make us a good fit as a supplier for your paper bags and packaging, please get in touch with us here to arrange an informal discussion.
